Sport Premium is a government funded payment aimed at improving and increasing the provision of PE in schools across the country.
The amount of funds paid is based on the number of pupils in a given school and must be spent solely on PE. It is expected that this initiative will improve PE in school in a sustainable manner. Therefore, when funds are no longer available, PE provision will have improved as a result.
The documents below set out in more detail how the grant was spent at Plaxtol Primary School last year and what our priorities are for future spending.
Year 3 and 4 have swimming lessons at Tonbridge School Sport's Centre in Term 5 and Year 5 and 6 in Term 6. They are taught in differentiated groups.
Typically many children can:
a) swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres;
b) use a range of strokes effectively; and
c) perfect safe self-rescue in different water conditions.
Exact percentages are reported in the Sports Premium Report above.
